After 36 months of procrastination I wrote a picture book in one weekend.
The first Art Quest
Adam here,
When I was 11, I declared that I would become an author and illustrator when I grew up!
I procrastinated until I was 40 before I finally did the illustrator part, and decided I would illustrate 10 books before thinking about writing. I did try to write many times, but there was always something to pull away my attention and kill my momentum.
I needed someone to sit there and make me do it.
And to achieve that goal I enlisted Jen Gubicza and together we gathered a party. A collection of people like us, people who wanted to write but needed someone guidance and some accountability. And we did our first Art Quest.
In one weekend, Jen guided us through the A-Z’s of writing a picturebook. And all 7 of us walked away with stories, that we wrote on our own, with the help of a supportive group and a guide.
Now we run Art Quest as an ongoing 12 months program. Twice a month we meet as a group once to learn and grow and workshop together, and again to work on our own projects with some light guidance.
From now until Feb 14, Jen and I will be offering a 45 minute Creative Business Roundtable to anyone who signs up for an annual subscription to Art Quest. It took me a long time to discover that the creative journey is better when you surround yourself with creative people.
We’d love to invite you to join the part.
PS: once you’ve subscribed you can reply the welcome email or DM us to book your Creative Business Roundtable/ Protfolio Review.
